Beautiful Head Shape!

Did you notice?  No helmet!
Nathan loves going out to the garage and pointing at all the balls and toys he wants me to get down.  Today this frisbee was the hit.  He's a happy boy.  Nathan and I went to the beach today and felt the ocean, it was cold.  Oh, it was beautiful though.  We had fun walking down to the waves and seeing all the birds and helicopters.

Amazing to me!!!

Sandi and Matt waved Yes on Prop 8 signs on saturday.  I asked Sandi how many with her and Matt.  Oh, just me and Matt and their dog Sharma.  I was impressed.  That took some courage.  She said they were on Western Ave. and 1st Street which is a busy street.

I just wanted to say, I'm proud of you both.  You went the extra mile in my book.  Wish I had a picture of the 3 of you out there.

Sandi said they got lots of positive response, as well as the usual mean comments.  I won't go into those.

Do what you can today for Yes on 8.

Yes we had a fun day waving signs for Yes on Prop 8

It was a very positive experience on saturday.  We had about 25 people show on our corner, which was Hawthorne Blvd. and Del Amo.  Lot of thumbs up and horn honking.  Lots of smiles and people thanking us for being out there.   Lot of people just walking by and wanting to know what Yes on 8 was.  We had one lady who took a sign home with her.  We told her to take it in at night cause it will get stolen.  She said she knew about that.  She takes her McCain/Palin sign in each night too.  We had some opposition as well.  I can only tell you, the opposition likes a certain finger signal.  They weren't afraid to use it. We worked from 12-2pm and we saw a lot of traffic.  This really was an experience.  Glad we could take a stand.

Vote Yes on Prop 8-Sign Waving on Hawthorne and Del Amo Blvd.

Last picture of Nathan in Helmet!

Nathan upstairs in Ryan's room, holding Ryan's volleyball.  This picture was taken by Rebecca and will be the last time you see Nathan in his helmet.  He got the OK on Tuesday.  His head has shaped up nicely.  We will have to get a picture of him helmet free.  We love this little grandson, very much.  Did I mention, he loves balls.....any kind.  Play ball Nathan.

OUR PROP. 8 SIGN STOLEN!!!

HERE WE GO AGAIN....  OUR "YES ON PROP 8" SIGN WAS STOLEN LAST NIGHT.  WE HAVE BEEN BRINGING IT IN EVERY NIGHT SINCE WE GOT IT, TWO WEEKS AGO.  I'LL HAVE A NEW ONE TODAY, WITH A SECURITY CAMERA SET UP THIS TIME.   THE OPPOSITION IS TRESPASSING!

IN THE YEAR 2000 WITH PROP. 22 OUR SIGN WAS TAKEN ALSO.  I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE "NO ON PROP. 8" SIGN.  I WONDER IF ANY OF THEIR SIGNS HAVE BEEN STOLEN? MAKES YOU THINK WHAT THE OPPOSITIONS TACTICS ARE. SURE DON'T LIKE IT!

I KNOW "YES ON PROP. 8" IS DOING WELL.  THE OPPOSING SIDE IS PULLING AT SIGNS TO TRY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  DON'T THINK THAT'S GOING TO WORK.

ONWARD AND UPWARD WE GO!!!  FORWARD, PRESSING FORWARD!

So Pretty had to show them: Thanks Amber!

How cute are these little treats Amber brought over for a Sunday treat?  They are mini carmel apples.  She used a little melon scooper to form the apple shapes. Then dipped them in white melted chocolate and rolled them in crushed teddy graham (didn't have oreo's on hand), coconut and sprinkles.  She also used butterscotch chips instead of carmel for dipping the mini apples in.  They were a hit at our home.   They were little and easy to eat. They were yummy, they even felt like they were a bit healthy cause of the apple part.
Say good-bye to Nathan's helmet, today he got the all clear to be done with the head shaping.
He is going to miss that bit of protection this helmet has played in his life the past 3 or 4 months.
Sandi can't wait to try a treat.  Amber is explaining how she put these yummies together.  Can you find Nathan in this picture?  He is with his favorite Aunt.

NATHAN WATCHING ANOTHER VB GAME OF REBECCA

Nathan was in a trance watching the VB game against Peninsula High.  They lost the 1st game.  Rebecca didn't play in that game.  Second game they won.  They were leading the whole game.  Then the last game they lost by 2 points.  Rebecca played well.
Here is Rebecca getting ready to block.
Her West High School gym.  Can you find Rebecca?
Grandpa came and watched for Rebecca's second game.

Who does Rebecca look like in this picture?

Ok, clue on who Becca looks like.  Some one in our family.  Long hair and wears sleeve headbands..........Ryan!  What do you think?
Nathan LOVED watching the VB game.  He loved all the balls being hit, after a while he started swinging his arm.  I have high hopes, he's going to play some VB.  With Ryan, Becca and I to train him.
Nathan was happy to have his handy snack cup that doesn't let things fall on the floor.  He was extremely happy to see Rebecca at the game.  He was squealing with joy.
Grandpa and Nathan taking in the game.  It was nice to have Scott come to the game.  Rebecca really wanted us to be there.  This was Nathan's 1st time watching Rebecca play on her VB team.  By the way she played awesome!!!  Nice setting, hitting, and serving.

Halloween Is Coming!

Nathan loves this little book that holds our Halloween candy.  Everytime you open the box a funny witch lady says something to you.  Like "Would you like some Candy"?  You have to hear the voice to appreciate it.  Nathan would just laugh.  I took some videos on it.
Nathan was checking out some of our fall displays.  Not real fruit.  Grandma did not injure Nathan, his cheeks were really red on the one side after his nap.  He slept for 3 hours.  Was able to get some phone calling for Prop 8.  It was a good day.

More VB of Rebecca at the El Segundo Game

Rebecca getting a tiny bit of the block.  This week Rebecca has another game at South on Friday.  Also Saturday she has a Volleyball tournament at South.  I have to admit, I love going to the games.  The Varsity at west has some amazing players.  They won very easily today at El Segundo.  I may take photos at the Tournament on Saturday.  I would love to take better action photos.
Hitting the ball over on the 3rd hit.
Here is Rebecca setting the VB to #14.  She plays Opposite/Setter.

El Segundo VB Game

Please mom, don't take my picture.
Warming up before the game-digging
You have to double click on this photo to see Becca smiling.  Think she was happy to be playing more today.  They lost the 1st game.  Won the second and Lost the third.  Basically they gave the third game away.  El Segundo really didn't win, we just made too many misses.
Rebecca trying to get in on a block.  Becca is #4.  Her fingers are above the net, that's a good sign.  I told Becca we would work on blocking.
Rebecca just hit the ball and is waiting to see if the ball is going in bounds.  Yes...it did.
