Volleyball Day & Nathan & Fog & Sun

At our home it was HOT and SUNNY.  When we got to the Beach it was FOGGY and COLD.  It didn't last long.  I had forgotten Nathan's jacket, so he is wearing mine.  He sat here just watching for a long time.  It was very unlike him.  He is pretty much on the go all the time.  It might have been the sand that kept him sitting.  Who knows?

Here are some of my VB buddies playing in the FOG.  I don't think Kim's serve made it over the net.   Nathan here below happily watching the action, which he loves.  I know,  I've asked him if he likes watching VB.  He always says yes, which he says to just about everything.

When we first got to the beach it was so foggy, you couldn't see the ocean from the top of the Knob Hill steps.  It did warm up though.

Did I mention Nathan loves Balls....any kind.  These are pictures I took of him last week when I watched him.  I have Nathan for more days this week and have really had fun with him at the park, playing outside and of course playing ball.  He really likes the volleyball, I wonder why?  Rebecca has been teaching him how to block, spike and set.

Nathan striking a pose with Rebecca.  Rebecca had one of her best games.  She got 2 ace serves in a row and another serve point.  Three in a row.  She got lots of great sets, saves and one great hit.

Rebecca's biggest fan.  Nathan got hit by a spike.  It hit his knee.  It surprised him, there was a delayed cry.  He was fine.  Everyone felt bad for him.  His Grandma isn't quick enough to stop these hits sometimes.

Prop 8 Door Hangers

Getting organized with a bunch of addresses and door hangers to get to the doors of Redondo Beach Voters.  Don't forget to vote this Tuesday!  Yes on Prop 8.  

Thank goodness Scott is good with addresses.  We had fun in some winding streets and lots of hills and steps.  I'm not complaining.  Just a bit sore!

We had good weather, only a few drops of rain.  Beautiful fall day.

Nathan was a spider and came by to visit with his mom and dad.  Rebecca had a VB tournament for the Varsity she had to go to.  It was her 1st Halloween not trick or treating.  It was a quite night.  We had a fair share of trick or treater's.  Becca was a 80's aroboics instructor.  She looked really cute.

Spider Nathan with Grandpa.  He had a fun night trunk or treating with Torr. 2nd ward.  Heard they had lots of fun decorated cars.  I hear too...Nathan likes suckers.  He learned about candy this Halloween.  That darn sugar thing.

Nathan loves going out to the garage and pointing at all the balls and toys he wants me to get down.  Today this frisbee was the hit.  He's a happy boy.  Nathan and I went to the beach today and felt the ocean, it was cold.  Oh, it was beautiful though.  We had fun walking down to the waves and seeing all the birds and helicopters.

Sandi and Matt waved Yes on Prop 8 signs on saturday.  I asked Sandi how many with her and Matt.  Oh, just me and Matt and their dog Sharma.  I was impressed.  That took some courage.  She said they were on Western Ave. and 1st Street which is a busy street.

I just wanted to say, I'm proud of you both.  You went the extra mile in my book.  Wish I had a picture of the 3 of you out there.

Sandi said they got lots of positive response, as well as the usual mean comments.  I won't go into those.

Yes we had a fun day waving signs for Yes on Prop 8

It was a very positive experience on saturday.  We had about 25 people show on our corner, which was Hawthorne Blvd. and Del Amo.  Lot of thumbs up and horn honking.  Lots of smiles and people thanking us for being out there.   Lot of people just walking by and wanting to know what Yes on 8 was.  We had one lady who took a sign home with her.  We told her to take it in at night cause it will get stolen.  She said she knew about that.  She takes her McCain/Palin sign in each night too.  We had some opposition as well.  I can only tell you, the opposition likes a certain finger signal.  They weren't afraid to use it. We worked from 12-2pm and we saw a lot of traffic.  This really was an experience.  Glad we could take a stand.
