Merry Christmas

This was at the end of our Earlene Carter Christmas party with all of Scott's siblings. I noticed 3 of our daughter's sitting on the couch. Then I realize, all our children were there. Family photo opt. We gathered all together and took this photo. It was wonderful to have them all there. I am so thankful for our family. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Kevin, Matt and Nathan are missing in this photo.

Good Day at the Beach!

Volleyball Buddies in our Christmas colors.
What a day out there. Beautiful....Nathan was with me today.
Taylor wasn't feeling well. Nathan had fun playing in the sand.
After VB went to Shelley Martins for lunch. Sooo good!
Sandi came by to say Hi. Nathan squealed for joy when Sandi pulled up.

Nathan promised me he wouldn't throw sand at my camera! Last time we went to the beach, he got me really good. Sand down the front of my shirt.
I love this photo of Nathan. I think it shows his sweet little spirit. We had a fun day today.

El Capitan to see "A Christmas Carol"

Becca boxed up as a toy. Just for Nathan.
Just after seeing the show. I love the story by Charles Dickens-A Christmas Story. It so gets me in the mood for Christmas. The show was well done.
The pre-show was fun. Singing and dancing Disney style.

Some shopping was done too.

Rainy day in Hollywood and Grandson Photos!

Rebecca and I got to go to see "A Christmas Carol" today at he El Capitan theater in Hollywood. There was a little pre-show with singing and dancing. It really was fun. They passed out jingle bells and we even got to help with some of the songs. We took Grandma Carter and had a fun time with her. We even did a little Christmas shopping after the show and had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. Rebecca really wanted to go down to Sprinkles Cupcakes on the way home, which we did. We each got a Eggnog cupcake. They are soooo good. That place is dangerous. Too good!
Becca and Nathan at the Del Amo Mall. The only way to get Nathan on Santas lap was to have Becca there too.
Nathan loves playing with our doctor kit. Loves giving shots especially.

Here is Nathan watching one of our favorites now. Mary Poppins, he loves the chimmey sweeps and flying the kite songs. He is really into it.
The marble game that Great-Grandpa Carter made years ago for his grandchildren. Nathan loves watching the marbles roll down.

Monday went down to the strand and went on a wonderful bike ride with friends that are turning 50 years old this year. Kathryn and Janene turn 50 this December. Cheryl has about 4 years till she turns 50. So this was our special girls day out bike ride. It was so pretty and we got to have a great lunch together at 22nd street in Hermosa at Martha's.
Here we are with our bikes near us. I think next time we get together we're going on kayaks in Long Beach.

My Buddy this week

Grandma Karrie and Grandpa Jim are in Hawaii this week. Nathan gets to spend his days with me and nap times too. He really is such a good boy. Today he told me he wanted to go in his crib. It was only 1:30 p.m. He usually doesn't go down till 2:00 p.m. I gladly put him down and he slept till 4:00 p.m. It was a good day at Grandma Shelly's. He went with me to LAX too, to pick up Aunt Sandi. She was happy to see her little Nathy.

More of the days waves and tide

This wave was one of the smaller ones.
I don't think I've ever seen the waves come up this much in Redondo Beach.
The waves were nice for the surfers today. I think because of Hurricane Rick.

2009 Redondo 2nd Ward Primary Program a Success!

Here is most of our Primary Children and Teachers. We had a wonderful program:
"My Eternal Family" was the message. The children all did well and sang well. We had fun taking these photos as they were all saying Cheeeeeeeeese!
Down to the beach this morning for a little work out in the sand. It was so pretty there this morning. Big waves, the surfers were having a blast. I had fun enjoying the beauty of where we live. How many times have I said? "I love where I live".
Baby birds playing around the waves.

Volleyball Friends this past summer...

Today was a great day down in Redondo Beach, Knob Hill. This is where I play each week and the ladies I play with. This photo was taken in May 2009. One of my friends from High School (Nancy Hammond McNeil) was visiting from OR and came and played a few games with us. She and I played in High School together. She is the one wearing the red hat, and BYU t-shirt.
Left to right: Andrea, Shelly, Nancy, Shelly, Heather and Alisha in the front.
Great ladies and great Volleyball. We have skills!

TUACAHN Amphitheatre "AIDA"

This is where we saw the musical "AIDA". All the music is written by Elton John and Tim Rice. I loved it. It is a love story set in a perfect setting for the outdoor amphitheatre with the Red Rock back round. If you ever get a chance to see it there, do it.
Bryan and Kelly heading toward the amphitheatre.
Rebeccas roommate Sylvia, from EFY randomly was there the same night. They found out they were both heading to St. George as we were driving up and Becca texed her. This was not planned. It was pretty cool since they have been trying to get together and she is from Draper, UT. The next day they got to hang out at the mall and have lunch together. We got to meet her sisters and family who were down visiting friends.
Claudia after one of our shopping adventures
This is the cool park near the Old Tabernacle. They have made this little stream and it was still warm enough for us and some little kids to run through and get wet.

I just love Bees..........and Cafe Rio

We met up for lunch at Cafe Rio and took it to the park by the Old Tabernacle. We didn't know the town Bees would bee there. It really was a battle trying to eat our wonderful salads. Scott tried to distract them with this Root Beer that they seemed to really enjoy.
Kelly and Bryan on Main street in St. George by the fountains, where they have built a wonderful park by the old Tabernacle.
We celebrated Kelly, Bryan and Claudia's Birthdays!
The view from my parents home in St. George. I love to see the Temple.
Rob and Scott before one of the golf adventures!

All together in St. George, Sept. 30th-Oct. 4th, 2009

Where The Wild Things Are....

Nathan and Sharma getting a drink from the hose with Sandi's help. It was such a warm day, Nathan needed to get outside and cool down. He was mostly chasing Sandi around and getting her skirt all wet, and himself too.
Running and feeling the joy.
Here is Nathan chasing Sandi around with the hose.
We read "Where the Wild things are" before going outside to play. Nathan loves this book and wanted to sit down and check it out.
